THE RIVER IS A VISCOUS ARCHIVE

ADRIANA ARROYO
CERO UNO, SAN JOSÉ, COSTA RICA, 2026

Invited by Sala Blanda - "an itinerant space for independent cinema and shared sensibilities" Adriana Arroyo took part in an event at Cero Uno, a community art centre in San Jose, Costa Rica last April. The evening was centred around Arroyo's project "The River is a Viscous Archive" which focuses on "activating" the memory of the San Juan River at the border between Nicaragua and Costa Rica, as well as the screening of "Patrol" a documentary about the Indio Maíz Biological Reserve in Nicaragua. She presented her work in progress and was in conversation with biologists/environmentalists Sofía Pastor Parajeles and Amaru Ruiz, moderated by Anastasia Molina Ross, founder of Sala Blanda.
