DR KULDIP KAUR

Kuldip Kaur is a lecturer in the anthropology department at Goldsmiths, University of London. As an anthropological researcher and qualified nutritional therapist, my research intersects food, health, race and gender. My previous research focused on the effects of political violence on ordinary citizens in Guatemala, but recently I have pivoted into the topics of food, health and racial inequalities. To that effect, I am currently designing a new project on diabetes, migration, and food changes in a Sikh community in the UK and the diaspora. A parallel project, in its early stages, relates to fermentation practices and cultural changes with the intention to understand the effects of fermented food consumption on non-communicable diseases in London.
