Issie Martin

Issie Martin is an artist and Junior Fellow at the Centre for Art and Ecology, where she supports administration, communications and events of the Centre, as well as the management of the Art and Ecology Laboratory.

Issie is currently studying on the MA in Art and Ecology at Goldsmiths, London. Her practice spans across printmaking, bookbinding, film and sculpture. The work is centred around the bodies of water who surround, seep into, and live beneath the land. She imagines speculative ways of living in flood, uncertainty and saturation. Experimenting with foraged materials, site informs the creation of absurd tools and poetic writing grappling with notions of the futile and methods of weathering.

Recent exhibitions include: the MA Art & Ecology Degree Show, Goldsmiths (London 2026), Futile Acts, Modern Painters New Decorators (Loughborough 2025), Conflicted, Phoenix Cinema (Leicester 2025), and has featured in publications by a-n, No Jobs In The Arts, and Ambient Receiver. Her work was shortlisted for the Goldsmiths Vice Chancellor’s Postgraduate Prize and selected for the Director’s Cut as part of Imprint Art Fair (2026). She completed her BA (Hons) Fine Art at Loughborough University, with a Diploma in International Studies, studying at the Universidad de Zaragoza in Teruel, Spain.
