RESIDENCY AT CELADON CENTER FOR ARTS & ECOLOGIES, KAPEDES, CYPRUS
DR ROS GRAY AND DR ANNA COLINAPRIL, 2026
In April 2026, Centre for Art and Ecology co-directors Ros Gray and Anna Colin had the pleasure of being the inaugural residents of Celadon Center for Arts & Ecologies in Kapedes. They were generously and warmly hosted by founders Gabriel Koureas, Elena Parpa, Leontios Toumpouris and Evanthia Tselika, as well as by gardener and cook extraordinaire Damien Touche, in a soothing setting surrounded by trees, mountains and bird songs.
High points of a generative week included the invitation to present their research at the Celadon and to introduce the work of Goldsmiths’ Centre for Art and Ecology to staff and students at the University of Nicosia. Evanthia Tselika took them on a guided walk through Cyprus’s layered histories of deep-time geology, conflict, the buffer zone and social housing gardens. They were also given a tour of the excellent and thought-provoking exhibition ‘Agropoetics’ at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nicosia, curated by Elena Parpa, and had an inspiring visit at the studio of Leontios Toumpouris.
